Beni-Suef University Faculty of Developmental Social Work Celebrates International Day of Older Persons with Field Visit to Nursing Home

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni-Suef University, the Faculty of Developmental Social Work organized a field visit to a nursing home, coinciding with the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, as part of the University's efforts to strengthen its community role and promote the values of solidarity and compassion. The visit was supervised by Prof. Dr. Hindawy Abdel-Lahi Hassan, Dean of the Faculty; and Dr. Mohamed Saad El-Sherbiny, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. It was attended by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel-Rahim, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Ayman Sayed Saeed, Head of the Department of Social Work Fields; Dr. Hanan Ashry, Head of the Department of Group Work; Dr. Elham Naeem, Head of the Department of Social Planning; and Dr. Mona Galal, Director of the Admission and Registration Unit.
Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that the University attaches great importance to the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and is committed to instilling the values of solidarity and human responsibility among students. He noted that such humanitarian initiatives reflect the true role of Egyptian universities in engaging with all segments of society and providing psychological and moral support to older persons who have devoted their efforts to building the nation.
The University President also explained that the Faculty of Developmental Social Work plays a leading and practical role in activating professional practice and linking academic curricula to real-life community needs, thereby contributing to caring for vulnerable groups and enhancing their quality of life. He added that the University administration spares no effort in supporting such activities and events that reinforce the human dimension and strengthen social bonds between University members and the wider community.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Hindawy Abdel-Lahi Hassan expressed his pleasure at organizing the visit, affirming that the Faculty delegation was keen to communicate directly with the residents of the home, listen to them, and share in the celebration in an effort to bring joy and happiness to their hearts. He also praised the efforts of faculty members and participants in organizing this humanitarian event, which is consistent with the Faculty's mission of preparing social workers capable of making an effective contribution to community service and achieving sustainable development.
