Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced that the university has achieved a new accomplishment that reflects its continuous efforts to improve the educational and research system, as it was announced that it was included in the (1201–1400) band globally in the 2027 edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

On the local level, the university came within the estimated segment (from 17 to 26) among a total of 40 Egyptian universities that were ranked in this round, sharing the same global segment with other nine Egyptian universities, namely Assiut, Benha, Damietta, Fayoum, Horus, New Valley, 6th of October, Suez Canal, and Suez.

The university president explained that the Times ranking is one of the most accurate and impartial global rankings, as it relies on an integrated system of indicators and criteria in evaluating academic institutions, including the quality of scientific research, teaching and the educational environment, the research environment, the international outlook, the extent of the university’s connection to industry and knowledge transfer, and the improvement in the performance of 21 Egyptian universities, which prompted the International Ranking and Sustainable Development Office at Beni Suef University to prepare an accurate analytical reading to identify institutional gaps and work to address them.

Dr. Samaa Al-Daq, Director of the International Ranking and Sustainable Development Office, explained that the report yielded a number of results, most notably that future development plans are based on a number of key pillars, including emphasizing the importance of unifying and adjusting institutional affiliation formulas for researchers on the Scopus database to ensure that all research and citations are counted in the name of the university, systematically auditing the uploaded institutional data, intensifying participation in international academic reputation surveys, in addition to expanding the building and documentation of international research partnerships and consultancy contracts that support the industrial and production sectors.

The report concluded by emphasizing that moving from monitoring the final ranking to the concept of "continuous management of performance indicators" will ensure that Beni Suef University consolidates its position among the top 1200 universities globally in the next cycle.
