Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, reviewed the achievements of the Printing and Publishing Center during the past year. This took place during his chairmanship of the Printing and Publishing Center's Board of Directors meeting, which was attended by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nagi Radwan, Director of the Center, and members of the Board.
The University President praised the significant progress made by the Printing and Publishing Center in meeting the printing needs of the university's faculties and institutes with the highest quality standards, disseminating knowledge through the publication of books and scientific journals, and providing cultural and media support for the university's educational and academic activities. He noted the Center's success in adopting innovative technological solutions that enhanced the quality of its output, in addition to its active role in documenting academic heritage, preserving the university's identity, and expanding community partnerships by providing integrated printing services to both the public and private sectors.
According to the financial indicators and investment achievements of the center, the university president affirmed its success in creating an operational and investment boom that led to a significant increase in revenues, achieving self-sufficiency and record profits. This was accomplished through diversifying income sources and developing activities. These revenues were primarily based on sales of publications and various academic services, in addition to income generated from sustainability and environmental responsibility initiatives, such as the sale of recycled paper and waste paper. This reflects high administrative efficiency in utilizing available resources and transforming them into productive returns that support the university.
In a related context, the council reviewed the center's output, which successfully achieved 100% self-sufficiency for the university. This was accomplished by providing a comprehensive package of services, including securing examinations, printing answer booklets and bubble sheets, publishing scientific journals and academic theses, as well as providing administrative registers, official documents, and all essential supplies. The center also distinguished itself by providing secure printed materials for conferences, graduation ceremonies, and certificates, while adhering to environmental responsibility through the safe disposal and recycling of paper waste, thus supporting the green economy.
The Board of Directors also reviewed the center's strategic achievements and administrative development. The progress was not limited to production; the administrative and organizational structure also witnessed significant development to ensure the sustainability and governance of operations. This was reflected at the administrative and operational levels in obtaining official accreditation through the adoption of the center's financial and administrative regulations by the Ministry of Finance, in accordance with the Prime Minister's decision. This granted the center flexibility and comprehensive legal and financial governance. The center also ensured the maintenance and readiness of its assets by entering into and renewing comprehensive periodic maintenance contracts for all its advanced machinery and equipment at competitive prices to prevent unexpected breakdowns. Simultaneously, the center improved the work environment by operating the air conditioning and ventilation system in the main printing workshop, creating an ideal and comfortable working environment for employees and technicians, and ensuring the safety of paper, inks, and sensitive equipment according to standard specifications.
In terms of expansion and external partnerships for resource development and community service, the center has successfully established itself as a trusted and preferred printing destination for numerous educational, sports, and healthcare institutions. This is achieved through the coordination and implementation of publications and technical services. In the academic and university sector, cooperation has included a comprehensive logistical and examination partnership with Beni Suef National University, support for the technical and technological education sector at Beni Suef Technological University, and building bridges of cooperation with private sector universities such as Nahda University in Beni Suef. In the union and sports sector, the center has distinguished itself by providing high-quality services through its unique Braille printing unit for the Egyptian Sports Federation for the Blind, in addition to supplying official and union publications for the General Syndicate of Sports Professions. These successive administrative and community achievements confirm that the Beni Suef University Printing and Publishing Center is steadily progressing towards leadership in the digital publishing and printing sector, contributing significantly to realizing Egypt's vision for sustainable development and building a knowledge-based economy.
In this regard, this exceptional surge translated into record-breaking figures and tangible achievements across various vital sectors of the university. The center successfully supported the examination and admissions system by printing and supplying over 1,068,000 answer booklets and more than 868,000 bubble sheets for different colleges. It also prepared tens of thousands of admission and registration envelopes for new students, postgraduate students, blended learning programs, and aptitude tests. The center's role extended to becoming a key partner in facilitating daily administrative and organizational processes by providing secure documents for the legal affairs, internal security, and accounting records and books departments. Furthermore, it developed visual and guidance systems for the occupational safety and health, awareness and prevention, and civil defense departments across various facilities.
The university president also noted that the center provided comprehensive logistical support to the university hospitals, achieving 100% self-sufficiency in meeting all the needs of Beni Suef University hospitals. This was accomplished through updating administrative records, printing patient care books and outpatient clinic tickets, and designing advanced radiology envelopes to protect medical films. The center also kept pace with the expansion of distinguished educational programs by enhancing and promoting their visual identity through the production of high-quality printed materials, advertising banners and posters, and marketing brochures to introduce the departments and specializations of the new programs. The center also participated in local and international exhibitions. These efforts culminated in the center's excellence in documenting and supporting conferences and events.
