Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced that DIME Digital Health Company has qualified for the final stage of the competition at the national level, following its advancement through the Beni Suef Governorate qualifiers in the “Startups” category of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects. This new achievement reflects the ability of the University’s youth to develop innovative projects that combine advanced technology with sustainable social impact. The achievement was made under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad, Advisor to the University President for Innovation and the University’s Coordinator of the Initiative.
The University President emphasized that DIME was founded by Mahmoud El-Khasht, a fifth-year student at the Faculty of Medicine. He successfully developed an integrated digital system designed to connect and organize the patient’s healthcare journey through a continuous digital medical record that consolidates medical history, laboratory and radiology results, and medical visits into a unified format that can be easily accessed whenever needed.
Dr. Tarek Ali further explained that the project has achieved tangible growth on the ground, with more than 10,000 patients having used its services. The company has also succeeded in attracting strategic investments from investors and experts in the healthcare sector, reflecting the evolution of the idea from a student initiative into a promising startup with an actual presence in the healthcare technology market.
The University President noted that the system directly contributes to supporting digital transformation plans within healthcare facilities and reducing reliance on traditional paper-based records. It also enhances continuity of care by facilitating physicians’ access to vital medical information and providing practical solutions that can be implemented in clinics and hospitals.
Concluding his statement, the University President expressed his pride in this qualification, which represents a significant milestone in the journey of a company that originated at Beni Suef University. He praised the skills of the University’s students and their ability to transform research and innovative ideas into startups capable of attracting investment and making an effective contribution to building a more advanced and sustainable future for healthcare in Egypt.
