Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, chaired the meetings of the Higher Committee for Scientific Journals and the University Performance Development Center, in the presence of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Shaaban Mubarak, Financial Advisor to the University, Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary General of the University, Dr. Maha Ahmed, General Coordinator of the Scientific Journals Unit, Dr. Abeer Moawad, Director of the University Performance Development Center, and members of the Boards of Directors.
During the meeting of the Scientific Journals Unit, several vital issues aimed at enhancing scientific research and achieving quality in international and local publications were discussed. The formation of boards of directors and editorial boards was approved, and financial and administrative officers were appointed for a number of prestigious scientific journals, including the College of Engineering Journal of Science and Technology (BJEST), the College of Arts Journal, the Journal of Sociology and Anthropology, and the Journal of Geography and Geomatics. The formation of the advisory board for the College of Arts Journal was also approved.
The meeting discussed new regulations for standardizing the issuance of official certificates, ensuring uniformity in correspondence and academic credentials in accordance with the university's visual identity. The university president also directed the development of a future vision for the scientific journal of sociology and anthropology through a comprehensive feasibility study, guaranteeing the uniqueness of its research content and the originality of its objectives, avoiding duplication with other journals.
During the meeting of the University Performance Development Center, ways to improve the scientific research system and overcome obstacles for researchers to ensure the sustainability of training resources were discussed. The council reviewed the success of the series of competitive research project preparation courses implemented online in cooperation with the Training and Conferences Office. It also approved organizing a specialized workshop at the College of Science during the mid-year vacation , in a step aimed at utilizing the academic holiday to raise research efficiency and refine the skills of academic staff.
