President of Beni Suef University: student elections is practical application of practicing democracy ... He directed to commit to transparency and neutrality

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, said during his meeting with the Higher Committee to supervise the elections of the student unions at the university, that the student elections are a microcosm and a practical application of the practice of democracy. He urged all members to provide the appropriate environment for the conduct elections with a commitment to transparency and neutrality and the implementation of the mechanisms of the election race in accordance with laws and regulations.

 The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khedr, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hossam El Hawary, General Coordinator of Student Activities, Captain Mohamed Farouk, Director General of Youth Care, and a number of faculty members and committee's members.
 During the meeting, the Rector pointed out the conditions of the students' candidacy; the candidate should be Egyptian, have  good reputation, to be fresh student, must not have been previously disciplined, or has already been sentenced to a penalty restricting freedom, provided that each candidate is committed to submit an electoral program with the nomination papers.

The university has announced the timetable for student union elections, according to the Ministry of Higher Education announced for the academic year 2019/2020, which starts on October 30th.
