Beni Suef University participates in the coordination meeting for the National Reading Project at Al-Qarsh Camp in Ismailia

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and within the framework of fruitful cooperation between the university and the Institute for Leadership Development, the university participated in the coordination meeting for the National Reading Project at the level of Egyptian universities, which was held at the Shark Camp in Ismailia Governorate from January 15 to 17, 2026. This came with the support of Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities, and under the supervision of Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hindawi Abdel-Lahi, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work and Development, Dr. Hossam El-Hawary, General Coordinator of Student Activities, International Referee Captain Mohamed Farouk, Director General of Youth Welfare, and Captain Ayman Zare, Deputy Director General of Youth Welfare.

Dr. Tarek Ali explained that the university's participation in this national meeting stems from its commitment to reinforcing the importance of reading as a key tool for developing students' awareness and building the Egyptian character. He emphasized that the university presented its project implementation mechanisms and evaluation guidelines within its colleges during the meeting. He also noted the university's complete readiness to dedicate all its resources to ensuring the success of the national reading project and motivating students to actively participate, thus guaranteeing the university's excellence in national cultural competitions.

For his part, Dr. Hindawi Abdel-Lahi, Dean of the Faculty of Social Development, expressed his pride in representing the faculty in this coordination through Dr. Hossam Ramadan, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty and Project Coordinator at the University, and Mr. Ashraf El-Gendy, representative of Youth Welfare, stressing that the Faculty of Social Work always seeks to promote national initiatives that serve the developmental and cultural aspect of youth, and thanking the university administration for its continuous support of purposeful student activities.

In a related context, Captain Mohamed Farouk, Director General of the General Administration for Youth Welfare, confirmed that the Student Unions and Families Department has already begun putting the final touches on the field implementation plan for the project, noting that the administration is paying special attention to this project to ensure the participation of the largest number of students, and appreciating the high level of coordination between the various departments at the university and the Institute for Leadership Development to present an honorable model for Beni Suef University.
