President of Beni Suef University leads a march for students with visual disabilities in the celebration of the International White Stick Day

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of

Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Special Needs Science, in cooperation with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and the Disability Challengers Unit, organized a special ceremony for the International White Stick Day in the presence of Prof. Dr. Bader Nabih, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Prof. Dr. Hanan Suleiman, Dean Faculty of Science and Prof. Dr. / Emad Al-Wasimi, Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs Science and Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the participation of the players of the Egyptian team of five-a-side football for the blind.                       .

The ceremony began with the organization of a student march with white sticks, which started from the entrance of the university to the administration building, led by the university president and participated by university students with visual disabilities and students of Al Noor School for the blind in Beni Suef.

The University President explained that the aim of celebration of the International Day of White Stick is to emphasize the importance of supporting students with visual impairment and consideration of their needs and highlighting the latest developments in the field of sight, as well as discussing their achievements and work to integrate them into society and joining forces between the civil and official sides to achieve that.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan opened an exhibition for the Department of Visual Disability outside the University theater which includes many of the tools and equipment provided by the University to ensure the quality of the educational process for students with disabilities.

It is worth mentioning the activities of the ceremony included singing ,individual poetry and operetta ''Heart Eyes'' and a documentary film on the development of the white stick and another entitled ''Blind and University'' and a sketch entitled "My Stick".
