The President of Beni Suef University attends the scientific day of the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine in cooperation with the Egyptian Psychiatric Association

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, attended today the activities of the Scientific Day of the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, which was organized by the university in cooperation with the Egyptian Psychiatric Association, under the supervision of Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and in the presence of Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Rasha Tawfik, Vice President of Beni Suef National University, and Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary General of the University, with the participation of a number of experts and specialists, including Dr. Mumtaz Abdel Wahab, President of the Egyptian Psychiatric Association, Dr. Hisham Radi, Secretary General of the Association, Dr. Mustafa Shaheen, Secretary General of the Federation of Psychiatrists, Dr. Hani Hamed, Treasurer of the Egyptian Psychiatric Association, Dr. Maha Emad El-Din, President of the Conference, and a group of professors of psychiatry and specialists from various universities and medical institutions
The university president affirmed that organizing this event comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to support scientific and research activities, and to promote the exchange of experiences between academics and specialists in various medical fields, noting that psychiatry has become one of the basic pillars in the modern health system, due to its important role in improving the quality of life and advancing the mental health of society
The university president praised the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Egyptian Psychiatric Association, which contributes to the development of the educational and research process and the service of patients according to the latest scientific standards, explaining that the conference will discuss a number of specialized scientific topics and modern issues in the field of psychiatry
Dr. Hani Hamed explained that the events included a documentary film about the university's Department of Psychiatry, as well as several scientific sessions and workshops that addressed the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. These sessions also showcased recent research experiences and facilitated the exchange of ideas on how to improve mental health services, thereby enhancing the efficiency of medical staff and achieving the highest levels of patient care. Participants also emphasized the importance of continuing to hold scientific forums and conferences that support scientific research and open new avenues for collaboration between specialized academic and professional institutions
At the conclusion of the opening session, Dr. Tarek Ali, President of the University, was honored by the Egyptian Psychiatric Association in recognition of his efforts and support for the Department of Psychiatry. Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary General of the University, was also honored
