Beni Suef University continues its "Strategic Path to International Indexing" workshop to enhance the quality of scientific journals.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Scientific Journals Unit at the university continued the activities of the second day of the training workshop entitled: “The Strategic Path for International Indexing: A Roadmap for Academic Journals,” which aims to develop an integrated roadmap for developing academic journals, improving the quality of scientific publishing, and increasing the chances of their inclusion in global databases and indexes
This was under the supervision of Dr. Maha Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed, the general coordinator and director of the Scientific Journals Unit at the university, and was presented by Mr. Mohamed Salah, director of the Scientific Journals Platform at the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, who provided a comprehensive evaluation of the scientific journals issued by the colleges, highlighting the strengths and aspects that require development, in order to support continuous improvement efforts and enhance the editorial and technical performance of the journals
The university president stressed that developing scientific journals is a key focus for supporting the scientific research system of the university , noting the importance of utilizing the evaluation results to determine development priorities and apply quality standards for international publishing, which enhances the chances of including journals in global databases and supports the university’s position in international and regional rankings
The second day activities included a discussion of the stages of issuing scientific journals and their issues, mechanisms for maintaining and improving the achieved evaluation levels, as well as a review of positive practices and technical aspects that need to be addressed, in order to raise the readiness of journals to apply to prestigious international indexes, most notably (DOAJ), (Scopus) and (Web of Science)
For her part, Dr. Maha Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed explained that the workshop represents a practical step towards preparing development plans based on accurate scientific and technical evaluation, stressing that the next stage requires addressing shortcomings, adhering to standards of publishing ethics and scientific arbitration, and developing editorial and organizational aspects to ensure strong competition at the international level
