Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, chaired the 263rd meeting of the University Council today. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary-General of the University; as well as the deans of the various faculties and members of the Council

The University President opened the council proceedings by commending the success of the "Egypt 2026" forum, which reflects the growing stature of the Egyptian state. He emphasized that the forum serves as a vital platform for fostering dialogue and exchanging perspectives on developmental and economic issues, thereby contributing to the support of sustainable development efforts and the construction of a more prosperous future

The University President commended the pivotal role played by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in achieving this remarkable success, through a strategic vision that contributes to consolidating Egypt’s standing at both the regional and international levels, and by supporting various national initiatives aimed at advancing comprehensive development

The Council members noted that the sustained successes achieved reflect the scale of the accomplishments taking place across various sectors in the country, and underscore its ability to confront challenges and advance the journey of progress and development

The university president briefed the council members on his visit to the specialized hospital—accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Executive Director of the University Hospitals—following the collision involving a bus that was transporting a number of university students. He explained that he had checked on the health status of those injured and verified the quality of the medical care being provided to them

He confirmed that he had directed the urgent transfer of most of the cases to the university hospital, while placing all university hospitals on the highest state of alert to respond immediately to the aftermath of the incident

He also emphasized the importance of providing every comfort and form of support to the injured and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary medical and psychological care, and continuously monitoring their condition until they fully recover. He expressed his sincere wishes for a speedy recovery for all those injured, hoping they may return safely to their normal lives

The Council approved the plan proposed by the Community Service and Environmental Development sector to hold a series of seminars and workshops this coming November. The Council emphasized the importance of such recurring events in fostering interaction among students, faculty members, and external experts. These sessions provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and for staying abreast of scientific and technical developments across various disciplines. Furthermore, they help refine students' critical thinking and research skills, broaden their professional horizons, and encourage a spirit of innovation and teamwork—all of which enhance the readiness of graduates for the labor market and contribute to building a vibrant, knowledge-driven university community
