The meetings were attended by Prof. Dr. Hamada Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Abeer Moawad, Director of the University Performance Development Center; Dr. Maha Ahmed, General Coordinator of Scientific Journals; Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the Anti-Violence Unit; Dr. Nermin Mahmoud, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women’s Beni-Suef Branch; Dr. Ahmed Gamal, Director of the Safe Women’s Clinic and a member of the committee; and members of the respective boards.

During the University Performance Development Center meeting, approval was granted for participation in the training program entitled “International Certificate for Building the Capacities of Managers and Teams of Incubators and Entrepreneurship Centers (CIM).” The meeting also approved adding the various names of Beni-Suef University to the Web of Science platform, preparing and issuing the statistical bulletin for the 2024/2025 academic year, and adopting the University’s policies designed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

A series of key decisions were also made to promote international publishing and develop the incentive and administrative frameworks for scientific journals. These included approving the formation of boards of directors, editorial boards, and financial and administrative teams for a number of specialized journals published by the University’s faculties. These journals included The Egyptian Journal of Medical Research, Egyptian Journal of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, and Journal of Cell and Tissue Research (EJTR), published by the Faculty of Medicine; the Journal of Social Work and Development, published by the Faculty of Social Work; the Journal of Childhood Research and Studies, published by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education; and the University’s Distance Learning Journal.

The meeting also considered making several scientific journals available through Dar Almandumah databases to enhance their scholarly reach. These included the Journal of Geography and Geomatics, the Journal of Archaeological Studies, and the University’s Scientific Journal of Sociology and Anthropology.

In a related development, the Board approved the purchase of DSpace, a software platform primarily used to create and manage digital repositories. It also approved holding a training workshop on October 27–28, 2026, entitled “The Strategic Path for International Indexing: A Roadmap for Academic Journals,” to strengthen mechanisms for the international indexing and ranking of academic journals. These decisions were made during the Scientific Journals meeting.

During the meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Anti-Violence Unit, the committee reviewed a plan to raise awareness of the Unit’s role among new students at the beginning of the academic year through welcoming activities organized by the University’s faculties. The committee also discussed launching a Financial Literacy program in cooperation with the National Council for Women to train male and female students in decision-making and personal resource management. Preparations were also reviewed for the implementation of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 10, 2026.

The committee further approved a proposal, developed in cooperation with the Faculty of Mass Communication, to produce a series of short awareness videos focusing on preventing and addressing violence through social media platforms. It also reviewed and discussed issues and cases raised by male and female students, exploring appropriate ways to address them through direct coordination and cooperation with the University’s Safe Women’s Clinics.
