Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, announced a new academic and international achievement for the *Egyptian Journal of Mass Communication Research*, published by the university’s Faculty of Mass Communication. The journal ranked third in the Arab world within the field of media and communication and sixteenth overall among Arab scientific journals, according to the 2026 "Arcif" report on impact factors and citations for Arab scientific journals. This achievement was realized under the supervision of Dr. Mamdouh Mekkawi, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Dr. Islam Othman, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research
The University President stated that the journal achieved an impact factor of 2.444 and successfully secured a Q3 ranking in the field of Media and Communication. This achievement reflects the significant qualitative leap and the sustained efforts made by the university and the Faculty of Media to elevate the standards of scientific research and academic publishing, as well as to enhance the standing of the university’s scientific journals and periodicals in various Arab and international rankings
Dr. Tarek Ali noted that this recognition followed a comprehensive evaluation process conducted by the "Arcif" agency. This process involved examining and analyzing data from over 5,650 scientific and research journals across various disciplines—published by more than 2,600 academic and research institutions throughout the Arab world—of which only 1,303 journals successfully met accreditation criteria aligned with established global standards. This underscores the significant scholarly value of the ranking achieved by the Faculty of Mass Communication’s journal
For his part, Dr. Mamdouh Mekkawi emphasized that this achievement reflects the commitment of both the faculty and the journal to rigorous scientific and editorial standards, precise peer-review procedures, and academic integrity. He commended the efforts of the faculty leadership and the editorial team of the *Egyptian Journal of Mass Communication Research*, expressing his hope that the university’s research system would continue to advance and excel, ultimately attaining the highest global standards
