Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, conducted an inspection tour of the new Faculty of Science building located on the East Bank of the Nile. He was accompanied by Dr. Hanan Soliman, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Wael Hazeen, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Abdel-Azeem Shaaban, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs; Dr. Salah Moawad, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; alongside several faculty members, department heads, and Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary-General of the University.
The tour covered laboratories, auditoriums, classrooms, and administrative offices. During the visit, the University President listened to proposals from faculty members regarding the furnishing and equipping of the facility with furniture, laboratories, and scientific instruments, highlighting that the new building represents a quantum leap for both the college and the university as a whole.
Dr. Ali reviewed plans with college leaders and faculty to equip the facility in line with academic and research requirements, emphasizing that the upcoming phase will witness a significant breakthrough in the college’s development following its relocation to the East Nile campus.
He noted that final finishing works have reached approximately 90% completion, paving the way for the furnishing and equipping phase. He stressed that the university prioritizes providing an integrated educational and research environment that meets global standards, adding that the new building stands as the largest scientific complex in Upper Egypt in terms of area and facilities.
Furthermore, he affirmed that the university is working to equip the laboratories with state-of-the-art scientific instruments to support research, advance academic programs, and reinforce the Faculty of Science's standing in basic and applied sciences.
Concluding the tour, Dr. Ali expressed his appreciation for the constructive feedback provided by faculty members regarding the setup process, noting that cross-sector collaboration remains the cornerstone of successful development. He reiterated that the new infrastructure will significantly boost the university's research capacity and global competitiveness, driving sustainable development forward.
