Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced the issuance of Ministerial Decree No. 406, approving the launch of the Medical Biophysics Program at the Faculty of Science. Operating as a specialized, tuition-based program under the credit-hour system, it stands as the first of its kind in Upper Egypt, marking a qualitative leap in higher education by bridging physics with biomedical applications.
The University President explained that the program aims to prepare specialized scientific cadres capable of meeting market demands in radiology, radiotherapy, medical equipment, and scientific research—further solidifying the university's standing as a leading academic institution.
He highlighted the program's unique multidisciplinary nature, combining fundamental sciences with clinical applications. Courses will be delivered by a distinguished faculty of physics and medical professors, complemented by advanced practical and laboratory training within university hospitals as well as medical and biological research centers.
He added that the program offers students exceptional academic and professional prospects. Graduates will be qualified to work across diverse sectors, including nuclear and medical research centers, the Atomic Energy Authority, hospitals, medical centers, biomedical device companies, and the pharmaceutical industry. This initiative aligns with the university's commitment to addressing the growing market demand in radiology, radiotherapy, and biomedical engineering, making it an ideal choice for students seeking a promising career.
Dr. Hanan Soliman, Dean of the Faculty of Science, noted that the program provides hands-on clinical and technical training at diagnostic imaging centers, oncology and radiotherapy institutes, and biomedical engineering firms, equipping students with comprehensive field experience for direct integration into the workforce.
She further added that the program targets Faculty of Science students from both the Science and Mathematics tracks, offering them a unique opportunity to excel in a discipline highly sought after by medical and research institutions.
