Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, stated that the University continues to strengthen its leadership in research by supporting academic activity and enriching the Arab academic library with high-quality scholarly publications that keep pace with societal transformations and contemporary social justice issues.
The latest distinguished scholarly publication by Dr. Qiati Ashour, Lecturer of Sociology at the Faculty, has been published under the title “The Sociology of Persons with Disabilities: A Contemporary Perspective on Social Inclusion and Empowerment” by the University Book House in the United Arab Emirates. This publication reflects the University’s commitment to producing intellectual contributions that serve researchers at both the local and regional levels while addressing current humanitarian and social issues.
The University President praised the publication as a strategic step toward enhancing the University’s standing in international rankings, emphasizing that the book opens new avenues for research and encourages the production of scholarly studies, as well as master’s and doctoral theses, on issues concerning persons with disabilities and inclusive inclusion. He further noted that this approach contributes to empowering researchers and policymakers to better understand the mechanisms of social inclusion and highlights the role of the humanities in analyzing and understanding the social and institutional challenges shaping our world today and in the future.
Prof. Dr. Azza El-Gohary, Dean of the Faculty, noted that the book represents a distinctive and unprecedented addition to the Arab academic library, as it is among the pioneering works to provide an integrated theoretical and applied foundation in the sociology of persons with disabilities. The book’s intellectual value goes beyond the traditional medical and charitable perspectives on disability, delving instead into its broader human and social dimensions.
Dr. Qiati Ashour explained that the book offers an in-depth and innovative critical analysis of how social and institutional structures fail to accommodate creative human diversity. It also raises fundamental questions concerning the future of social policies, economic empowerment, and the digital age within modern societies.
