Beni Suef University continues its research excellence by topping the global Nature Index and achieving first place among Egyptian universities in the field of chemistry.

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced that the results of the Nature Index for the period from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, showed that the university achieved 19th place among Egyptian universities.
With a distinguished research presence in the fields of applied sciences, health sciences, natural sciences, chemistry, and social sciences.

The university president explained that the university's total research output reached 10 publications in journals indexed in the Nature Index, with a total research share of 0.99. This reflects the quality of the published scientific research and its international impact. The most significant achievement is the university's ranking first in Egypt in the field of chemistry according to the share criterion, confirming the university's leading position in this field and its ability to compete globally in research.
He added that the index results reflect the university's research strength in several strategic areas, most notably materials science and nanotechnology, advanced chemistry, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research. The data also indicates the university's increasing presence in prestigious scientific journals tracked by the index in recent years, which confirms the success of the university's strategy in supporting scientific research and innovation
Dr. Samaa El-Daq, Director of the International Ranking and Sustainable Development Office, pointed to the most prominent success factors, namely the high rate of international collaboration, which reflects the strength of the university's international scientific partnerships and their role in enhancing the quality and impact of research output.

She added that the most notable points of distinction in the ranking include first place nationally in chemistry, excellence in materials science and nanotechnology, extensive international collaboration, and leadership in interdisciplinary research. She emphasized the continued expansion of international research partnerships, support for interdisciplinary sciences and emerging research fields, and encouragement of scientific publication in Nature Portfolio journals and high-impact journals.
