President of Beni Suef University Reviews the Achievements of the Innovation Support and Patent Office During the Year

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, reviewed a report submitted by the University Performance Development Center on the achievements of the Innovation Support and Patent Office for the 2025/2026 academic year. The report was prepared under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad, Director of the Center, and prepared by Dr. Karim Abdelkader Sofi, Director of the Office, as part of the University’s efforts to strengthen the innovation and intellectual property ecosystem and support researchers and innovators.
Dr. Tarek Ali explained that the report highlighted numerous achievements, most notably the organization of five awareness seminars benefiting 120 participants, participation in the "From Idea to Product" seminar series, evaluation of 40 projects for participation in the conference, registration of three patent applications, renewal of 20 patent applications, and provision of technical support for the reactivation of three patents.
The Office also succeeded in transferring ownership of two patents to Beni Suef University, reviewing 38 patent applications to assess their technological readiness, and nominating five patent applications to participate in the IRC-EXPO 2025 exhibition. The University was represented at the exhibition through a prototype showcasing the innovative capabilities of its affiliates.
Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad noted that the total expenditure on patent applications during the 2025/2026 academic year amounted to approximately EGP 130,000, affirming the University’s commitment to supporting the innovation ecosystem, enhancing intellectual property protection, and transforming scientific research outputs into practical applications that serve society and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
