Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the University Performance Development Center, under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad, Director of the Center, reviewed the achievements report of the International Publishing Office for the 2025-2026 academic year. The report was prepared by Dr. Yasser Fleih, Director of the Office, Dr. Ahlam Hashem, Deputy Director, and Dr. Nourhan Salah, Administrative Officer.
These achievements included reviewing all research submitted for international publication awards between January 1st and the end of October 2024. The Office received applications from 528 researchers, totaling 2,432 research papers, in preparation for receiving international publication awards, reflecting the university's commitment to scientific research and supporting researchers. The Office also received applications for 2025, comprising 500 researchers and totaling 2,339 research papers, which are currently under review.
A series of seminars and workshops were organized across the university's various faculties, covering topics such as research paper writing skills, selecting appropriate journals for publication, the introduction to international publishing and its terminology, and international publishing in the medical and nursing fields. These initiatives aimed to enhance the skills of researchers and increase the rate of international scientific publication in the Faculties of Physical Therapy, Applied Health Sciences Technology, Nursing, Commerce, and Tourism and Hotels.
The office's efforts also include ensuring the suitability of scientific journals for dissertations, reviewing master's and doctoral theses, participating in editing and publishing research articles, and uploading university research that serves the Sustainable Development Goals to the Supreme Council of Universities' website.
Research indicators confirm the continued development of Beni Suef University's scientific performance. The number of research papers published during the first half of 2026 reached approximately 968, and data showed that 60% of these publications appeared in journals ranked in the top quartile (Q1). This reflects the quality of the university's scientific output and its ability to compete internationally, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and raising the university's standing at both the regional and international levels. The office also highlighted the outstanding results of the university journal, Beni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, which continues to achieve remarkable results in international scientific publishing. This reflects the quality of the research published within it and the confidence researchers have in its scientific standing. The journal is published in collaboration with the international publishing house Springer Nature using an open access system and is indexed in the Scopus database, ensuring the wide international dissemination of its published research. According to 2025 data, the journal achieved a Journal Impact Factor of 3.1 and a CiteScore of 6.3, indicators that reflect the increasing scientific influence of the journal and its role in publishing high-quality research in the fields of basic and applied sciences.
