Beni Suef University reviews the achievements report of the Research Projects Support and Funding Office, with funding exceeding 14 million pounds.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Board of Directors of the University Performance Development Center, under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad, the Center's Director, reviewed the achievements report of the Research Projects Support and Funding Office for the 2025/2026 academic year. The report was prepared by Dr. Sherif Ragab El-Arid, the Office Director, in collaboration with his team, which includes Ms. Nourhan Nabil Rashwan, Ms. Heba Osama Amin, Ms. Shaimaa Mohamed Magdy, and Ms. Hala Hamdy, the Center's Administrative Officer.
Dr. Tarek Ali explained that this outstanding achievement comes within the framework of Beni Suef University's strategy aimed at supporting the scientific research system and enhancing the university's competitiveness in securing funded research projects. This strategy also aims to establish a culture of innovation and excellence that serves the community and achieves sustainable development. He emphasized that the university continues its efforts to create a supportive environment for researchers to elevate the output of scientific research at all local and international levels. He also noted that the total funding received by the university's research projects exceeded 14 million Egyptian pounds during the 2025/2026 academic year, with 24 research projects submitted. He anticipates an increase in both the number of projects and the value of funding in the coming year, given the office's ongoing expansion and the growing interest among researchers in various funding programs. He emphasized that the office's policy focuses on encouraging and motivating researchers to apply for local and international funding programs, and providing the necessary technical and administrative support throughout the project preparation and submission phases.
The university president affirmed that the office continues its mission of supporting and developing the capabilities of faculty members and teaching assistants across the university's various colleges and departments. He highlighted that the academic year saw the implementation of seven workshops aimed at training researchers to prepare and implement competitive research projects. These workshops were conducted in coordination with Professor Dr. Fatima Hanafi, Director of the Training and Conferences Office at the Center for University Performance Development. In addition, the office organized introductory sessions to familiarize researchers with international cooperation programs, such as the Egyptian-Spanish Cooperation Program and the Egyptian-Chinese Cooperation Program, thus broadening the horizons of international research collaboration.
Dr. Sherif Ragab Al-Arid added that, as part of the office's commitment to streamlining administrative and financial procedures, 60 applications submitted by researchers during the current academic year were received, reviewed, and expedited. This directly contributed to the speed of completing financial and administrative transactions and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to researchers. He emphasized that the submitted research projects are linked to achieving a significant number of Sustainable Development Goals and are fully aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030, reflecting Beni Suef University's leading role in directing scientific research to serve national development priorities.
For her part, Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to the University President for his unwavering support and continuous follow-up of the center's activities and its branch offices. She affirmed that this support is the primary driving force behind achieving these fruitful results in service of the university's research system. She also extended her thanks and appreciation to the team at the Office for Supporting and Funding Research Projects and all center staff for their sincere and tireless efforts throughout the academic year to elevate the level of university performance.
