Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Advanced Sciences launched the Summer School for Climate Ambassadors, in cooperation with the Institute for Sustainability and Carbon Footprint. The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in the presence of Dr. Samaa El-Daq, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Advanced Sciences; Dr. Wael Hazin, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Dr. Mustafa El-Sherbiny, Head of the Institute for Sustainability and Carbon Footprint; Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Fattah, Vice Head of the Institute; Dr. Fawzy El-Essawy Younes, Professor and Head of the Acclimation Physiology Unit at the Desert Research Center; Dr. Mai Raslan, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Hossam Nassar, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Asmaa Hamouda, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences and Industrial Development and Coordinator of the School; Dr. Mohamed Wardany, Assistant Professor of Media; and a number of faculty members, researchers, and students.

The event was held under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University for Community Service and Environmental Development. Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that Beni Suef University places great importance on supporting academic and research programs that contribute to preparing qualified professionals in the fields of sustainability and climate action. He noted that the summer school aims to cultivate a generation of climate ambassadors equipped with the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary to address environmental challenges. Furthermore, it seeks to enhance collaboration between universities and research centers in disseminating a culture of sustainability and measuring carbon footprints, thereby supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.

During her address, Dr. Samaa El-Daq, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed the Faculty's commitment to supporting applied scientific research and adopting initiatives that contribute to addressing climate change. Dr. Hossam Nassar explained that the summer school serves as a scientific platform for raising environmental awareness and strengthening the university's role in serving the community by offering innovative solutions to environmental and industrial challenges. The program included several scientific sessions addressing the school's training modules. Participants discussed the importance of environmental media in raising awareness about climate and sustainability issues, and reviewed the program's practical applications, which included measuring carbon footprint, nature-based solutions, and strategies for adapting to climate change. Participants also received training in developing green development projects according to international sustainability standards. These activities are part of the university's strategy to promote a culture of sustainability and support applied scientific research.
