Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Department of Ophthalmology and Eye Diseases and Surgery at the University Hospitals has been designated as a training center for Egyptian Fellowship and Egyptian Board
physicians.
In a new step that reflects the advanced scientific and medical status enjoyed by university hospitals, within the framework of joint cooperation between the Egyptian Board and the Ministries of Health and Population, and Higher Education and Scientific Research, this came under the supervision of Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals, and Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of Beni Suef University Hospitals, and with the follow-up of Dr. Al-Zahraa Mohamed Fahmy, Coordinator of the Egyptian Fellowship in the hospitals, and with the distinguished efforts of Dr. Hossam Khalil, Head of the Ophthalmology Department, and the accreditation of Dr. Ahmed Taha as an official trainer for the fellowship in the department.
The university president explained that this accreditation is a strong and new addition to the series of successes achieved by Beni Suef University hospitals in the field of medical education and clinical training, which confirms the availability of the academic, medical, technical and technological capabilities necessary to qualify doctors according to the latest global scientific and professional standards, which directly contributes to preparing distinguished medical cadres capable of providing high-quality health services that serve the people of the governorate and society as a whole.
Dr. Tarek Ali also pointed out that Beni Suef University hospitals are currently training Egyptian Fellowship and Egyptian Board doctors in 14 different medical specialties; including pediatrics, general internal medicine, endemic diseases, family medicine, chest diseases, radiology, intensive care, cardiology, ENT, audiology, andrology, ophthalmology and eye diseases and surgeries, rheumatology and rehabilitation.
In addition to its focus on communication, this reinforces the university's position as one of the leading academic institutions supporting the Egyptian state's vision for improving the healthcare system and building qualified personnel according to the highest standards of quality and excellence.
Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, expressed his pride in this achievement, emphasizing that expanding the accreditation of training departments is part of the faculty and hospitals' strategy to support the continuing medical education system and enhance the role of university hospitals as leading centers for training and qualification. This, in turn, positively impacts raising the efficiency of physicians and the level of comprehensive healthcare provided to citizens.
For his part, Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of Beni Suef University Hospitals, praised this achievement, which crowns the efforts of the medical and administrative staff at the hospitals. He emphasized that the hospitals' administration is committed to providing all necessary facilities, logistical and technical support to the accredited departments, and to continuously developing the medical infrastructure and upgrading equipment to ensure an ideal training environment for physicians. This, in turn, guarantees the provision of outstanding medical services to patients across the various medical departments and specialized hospitals within the university.
