This initiative is part of the university's ongoing plan to enhance medical services provided to patients and improve the healthcare environment within university hospitals. The event was attended by Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals; Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Mr/ Mohamed Selim, General Secretary of the University; Dr. Mahmoud El-Batnanoni, Head of the Chest Diseases Department; Dr. Abdel Aziz Zein El-Abedin, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Dr. Hani Gomaa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health; and Dr. Mohamed Youssef, former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health. .
The university president confirmed that the development work included increasing the capacity of the Chest Diseases Department from 18 to 30 beds, which will allow the department to accommodate a larger number of patients, provide more efficient medical services, and create a more suitable treatment environment. The development also included the Vascular Surgery Department with the addition of six new beds, reflecting the university's commitment to supporting specialized medical fields that directly serve patients.
He explained that with this opening, Beni Suef University continues its serious steps towards developing the health system within university hospitals, which enhances its position as a leading academic and medical institution that seeks to achieve excellence in serving the community
For his part, Dr. Emad El-Banna affirmed that increasing the number of beds and upgrading the department's equipment will contribute to improving the quality of healthcare, keeping pace with the continuous increase in the number of patients visiting the hospital.
He added that these expansions represent a qualitative leap in the level of medical services provided and underscore the commitment of university hospitals to their vital role in serving the local community and meeting patients' needs.
