Honoring Dr. Omar Farag and Dr. Gouda Mabrouk of Beni-Suef University’s Faculty of Arts at the International Afaq Theatre Festival in Recognition of Their Contributions to Advancing the Theatrical Movement

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, announced the honoring of Dr. Omar Farag, Professor of Drama and Theatrical Arts and Head of the Theatre Department at the Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Gouda Mabrouk, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at the International Afaq Theatre Festival. The recognition was presented by renowned artist Mohamed Sobhy, President of the Festival, in appreciation of their outstanding efforts in supporting and developing the theatrical and artistic movement in Egypt.
The honoring followed Dr. Omar Farag’s participation as a member of the festival’s Higher Jury Committee, in addition to his active role in developing the Department of Theatre and Drama at the Faculty of Arts, which now includes a distinguished group of talented artists who have chosen to join the department due to its notable progress and academic and artistic quality.
The recognition also included Dr. Gouda Mabrouk, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, in appreciation of his efforts and contributions during his tenure, during which the Department of Theatre and Drama was established — a department that has now become one of the Faculty’s key strengths.
