The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Beni Suef University successfully performed a procedure to determine the stage of a malignant tumor in the uterine lining.

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced the success of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Beni Suef University Hospitals in performing a major surgical procedure to determine the stage of a malignant tumor in the uterine lining (Surgical Staging), which included a total removal of the uterus, ovaries and pelvic lymph nodes. This comes as part of the ongoing efforts made by the university hospitals, headed by Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hospitals, and Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of the university hospitals, to serve patients and provide the necessary medical care, under the supervision of Dr. Iman Zein El-Abedin, Head of the Department.
The university president affirmed that these successive successes are an extension of a series of medical achievements witnessed by Beni Suef University hospitals in multiple fields, including advanced endoscopic surgeries and IVF and assisted fertilization programs, in order to serve patients in Beni Suef Governorate and neighboring areas, and to provide distinguished free medical care without the trouble of traveling or bearing the exorbitant costs in other hospitals, noting that the university constantly seeks to provide the latest medical and surgical technologies within the university hospital, in support of the state’s plan to improve the health care system and localize specialized medical services in Upper Egypt.
Dr. Hani Hamed pointed out that Beni Suef University hospitals are witnessing a real leap in all medical specialties, stressing that what has been achieved in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is a model to be emulated in teamwork and integration between medical teams to serve the people of the governorate, directing thanks and appreciation to the professors, fellow doctors and the nursing team for their sincere effort and cooperation that contributed to achieving this success.
Dr. Emad El-Banna explained that the medical team consists of Dr. Sayed Mohamed Sayed Abdel-Gaid, Dr. Walid El-Amin, Dr. Mohamed Ragab, Dr. Ahmed Fouad, and Dr. Menna Allah Tarek, and an anesthesia team consisting of Dr. Mai Samir and Dr. Shahd Mohamed, and from the nursing team, Ms. Radwa Saad El-Din and Ms. Rehab Mahrous, stressing that this step represents the beginning of a major breakthrough in the field of women’s cancer surgeries at Beni Suef University Hospitals.
