In its 248th session, the Emergency Council of Beni-Suef University, chaired by Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, directed the need to finalize all preparations for the upcoming academic year. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, deans of faculties, and council members.
Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized the importance of ensuring laboratories, lecture halls, and libraries are fully prepared to welcome students, with timetables for undergraduate and postgraduate studies announced in accordance with regulations. He also stressed the necessity of the presence and regular attendance of university leaders and faculty members, as well as the readiness of student activities units and scout groups to organize welcoming festivals for new students. Additionally, he underlined the importance of using the university’s e-platform for textbooks, prohibiting the distribution of printed versions of uploaded materials in compliance with intellectual property rights and academic regulations. Faculties and institutes were instructed to submit detailed reports on their readiness, including their specific needs, in clear and organized tables.
The University President further highlighted the urgency of completing maintenance works in university dormitories—including plumbing, painting, furnishings, study halls, and dining facilities—along with comprehensive upgrades to student housing buildings. The goal is to provide outstanding services for non-resident students, considering the university their second home, and to create a conducive environment for smooth and effective learning. A committee comprising the Engineering Department and relevant administrative units, in coordination with the Facilities Committee, was also formed to assess the readiness of faculties and institutes from engineering and structural perspectives before the start of the academic year.
