Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef National University, the Faculty of Engineering at the university organized the first scientific forum, as part of the university's commitment to linking academic studies with practical application, and encouraging students to be creative and innovative in the fields of engineering, energy, and technology. The forum was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Academic Vice President, Dr. Mamtaz Hegab, Dean of the Engineering and Basic and Applied Sciences Sector, and Dr. Alaa El-Din Omar, Director of Engineering Programs, with the participation of faculty members and students of the college.
Dr. Mansour Hassan explained that the university seeks to graduate a generation of engineers capable of innovation and competition in the labor market, by supporting scientific projects that contribute to sustainable development and community service. Pointing out that the forum witnessed the presentation of a group of student scientific projects that reflected a deep awareness of energy and environmental issues, as these projects varied to cover a number of related projects, including a project that integrates wireless charging, electric cars, and solar power stations with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing emissions, and a project to track the sun in solar cells, increasing their efficiency and improving performance. It also included an innovative design for a vertical wind turbine that takes advantage of wind from all directions to boost electricity production, a project to break down water into hydrogen and oxygen and use hydrogen as an efficient and clean source of renewable energy, and a practical application of the laws of physics and dynamics through scientific experiments and projects that demonstrate learning outcomes.
For his part, Dr. Mumtaz Hijab emphasized the importance of developing students' skills in various fields, such as artificial intelligence, languages, and programming, as well as supporting critical thinking and innovation. He noted that these projects reflect the College of Engineering students' readiness for the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The forum featured artistic and cultural performances by the students, including poetry recitations and a singing performance. The event concluded with a tour of the projects and the accompanying art exhibition, where attendees expressed their great admiration for the level of creativity and practical application presented by the students.
