Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Politics and Economics organized a seminar on the impact of rumors on social stability. The event was held as part of the presidential initiative Building the Human, aimed at raising students' awareness of the dangers of rumors. The seminar was supervised by Dr. Nagah Al-Rayes, Dean of the Faculty, and featured a lecture by Dr. Najwan Othman, Fellow at the National Defense College and Editor-in-Chief of 60 Minutes website. The event saw significant participation from faculty members and students.

The seminar explored the concept of rumors and their threats to society, highlighting their destructive impact. It emphasized that rumors pose a greater danger to communities than terrorism, as they serve as a primary weapon in undermining societies. They aim to incite discord, destabilize nations, and hinder development. This phenomenon aligns with fourth- and fifth-generation warfare and psychological warfare tactics that rely on the spread of misinformation. The discussion urged young people to verify the accuracy of information before sharing it on social media and to seek reliable sources for accurate and trustworthy information.
