The Faculty of Applied Arts at Beni Suef University, under the auspices of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, organized an exhibition entitled "White and Black African Art", under the supervision of Dr. Mervat Refaat, Dean of the Faculty, in the presence of Dr. Diaa El-Din Mustafa, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Fatma Ahmed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, faculty members, assistant staff, students and administrators at the Faculty.
The exhibition included a group of artworks by second-year students of the Spinning, Weaving and Knitting Department. These works aim to apply the learning outcomes of the Carpet Technology course, as they used many textile techniques such as tapestry, sumac, reverse sumac and pile for African art using black and white, based on the Faculty's keenness and interest in the practical aspect by linking the academic curricula that students receive with the practical aspect, which clearly contributes to training students to keep pace with modern developments in the labor market by developing skills and acquiring professional experiences.
