President of Beni Suef University witnesses the activities of the Fifth International Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development under the slogan “Green is a Way of Life”

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, witnessed today the activities of the Fifth International Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development under the slogan “Green is a way of life,” which was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Rifaat, General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and vice presidents of Egyptian Universities for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hanan Soliman, Senate Member, college deans, and a number of faculty members and students Dr. Mansour Hassan began his speech by offering congratulations to Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for renewing confidence, wishing him further progress, success, and progress. He welcomed the guests of the university, where a session of the Supreme Council of Universities for the community service and environmental development sector is being held on the sidelines of the conference and within the university, explaining that the conference includes many topics, including artificial intelligence and its role in sustainable development
Reviewing Beni Suef University’s strategy for achieving sustainable development, discussing the economic, political and international challenges and its role in the green economy, mechanisms for moving towards new and renewable energy, eco-tourism and environmentally friendly hotels, the use of space technology to mitigate the effects of climate change, sustainable agriculture, and the use of Laser applications in sustainable development: Recycling wastewater by reducing water consumption to achieve sustainable development, as well as highlighting social responsibility to confront climate change
For his part, Dr. Mustafa Refaat stressed that the Supreme Council of Universities greatly welcomes and supports all activities that contribute in achieving sustainable development within the framework of the directives of the political leadership and the interest of the Minister of Higher Education towards going green, explaining the importance of including sustainable development goals within university curricula to teach young people how to Preserving the environment, pointing out that going green has become an urgent necessity at the local, regional and international levels and has become one of the most important pillars of sustainable development in light of climate change, which has greatly affected the quality of life, pointing to the importance of the role of universities in leading development and directing the country’s various sectors in accordance with the National Strategy of High Education
While Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi stressed that the conference will highlight the most important research and scientific developments for the green transition and provide a comprehensive scientific review to achieve sustainable development for Egypt’s Vision 2030, expressing his hope that the conference will be a true scientific nucleus for a green life by changing the ways individuals deal with the environment and optimal use of Water and energy resources
At the end of the conference, Dr. Mansour Hassan presented the university shield to Dr. Mustafa Rifaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Dr. Mona Abdel Hamid Hegras, Assistant Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities
