President of Beni Suef University: Discussion of the first master’s thesis at the Faculty of Earth Science.

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced today the discussion of the first master’s thesis at the Faculty of Earth Science, entitled “Fields of characterization and environmental and industrial applications of geopolymer bonding materials” by researcher / Ahmed Salah Ahmed, demonstrator at the Department of Mineral Resources, under the supervision of Dr. Tariq Ali, Vice President of University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Gaid, Dean of the College, Dr. Essam Abdel Rahman, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs at the College, and Dr. Safia Mohamed, Head of the Mineral Resources Department.  

The university president expressed his delight at the commencement of the postgraduate and research sector within the college, marking its real-world implementation to enrich scientific research in the field of earth science with its multiple specializations, which are the first scientific production of the college’s supporting body since its establishment.

The university president congratulated the researcher and the college administration, wishing to work to support and develop the college’s graduate studies sector to enrich the scientific library and support researchers interested in earth science, especially since nations’ progress and renaissance is measured by the level of scientific research, the extent to which it keeps pace with the latest findings of science, and the extent to which its results can be benefited from and applied in reality.

The researcher's thesis dealt with the study and analysis of low-cost geopolymer bonding materials, which are manufactured from widely available natural resources, in addition to exploring different sources of industrial solid waste and their potential applications in the environment and industry. 

The supervision committee was formed by Dr. Moaz Qorni Selim, Professor at the Department of Mineral Resources, Dr. Ahmed Abu Shareb, Professor and Head of the Engineering Geology Department, and Dr. Hamdi Abdel Aziz.  
  The discussion and arbitration committee consisted of Dr. Moaz Qorani Seleem, Professor of Applied Minerals at the Department of Mineral Resources, as Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ahmed Sayed Kamel Odah, Professor of Applied Inorganic Chemistry at the National Center for Housing and Building Research, who specializes in cement and geopolymer chemistry and building materials manufacturing technology, and Dr. Nabila Shehata, Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering and Head of the Department of Renewable Energy Science and Engineering at the Faculty of Graduate Graduate Studies for Advanced Science at Beni Suef University.
