Beni Suef University celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the slogan “Hand in Hand”

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Special Needs Science organized a celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, in the presence of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Walid Farouk, Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs Science, and Dr. Mona Kamal, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Azzazy, Vice Dean of the College for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Amal Abdel Ghani, Vice Dean of the College for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Shahawi, Head of the Department of Visual Disability, in the presence of faculty members and the college’s supporting staff, and a group of students.
For his part, the University President stressed the importance of holding these events to increase awareness of people with disabilities, introduce their rights, increase understanding of disability issues, raise awareness of the importance of ensuring the rights of people with special needs, raise awareness of the importance of integrating people with disabilities in all areas of life, and enhance their participation in light of Egypt’s vision for sustainable development, especially in matters related to education.
It should be noted that the celebration activities included a group of blind children performing a musical song, and a play about stuttering performed by a group of male and female students from the college’s Department of Speech Communication, in addition to honoring honorable examples of outstanding female students with disabilities who obtained master’s degrees.
