Scientific trip for students of the Faculty of Earth Science, Beni Suef University, to the phosphate mines in Abu Tartur, in the oases

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced that the College of Earth Science is organizing a scientific trip for students of the fourth grde to the phosphate mines in Abu Tartur in the oases, as part of the college’s practical training plan for the academic course of field geology, under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Gaid, Dean of the College.
The university president explained that the trip included a visit to the site of Misr Phosphate Company in Abu Tartur plateau in the city of Kharga, and the students listened to a detailed explanation about the company’s work and production stages and its efforts to expand geological research plans and raise production rates and the steps of value-added projects to maximize the benefit from phosphate ore and studies on the utilization of accompanying raw materials, in addition to explaining the geological structures of the plateau and its production sectors.
At the conclusion of the visit, the college delegation, headed by Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Gayed, Dean of the College, and in the presence of Dr. Gouda Ismail, former Dean of the College of Science, and Dr. Hatem Saad Bakri, Director of the Quality Unit and Scientific Supervisor of the trip, presented the college shield to Engineer / Mohamed Abdel Azim - Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, in appreciation of their efforts in receiving and supporting the college delegation in the largest mining site in the republic.
