Student delegation from Beni Suef University visits Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced the visit of a student delegation from the university to Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism, in order to implement the program “Towards a Youth Vision to Confront Extremism and Terrorism.” With the aim of educating university students and immunizing them against extremist ideas, and correcting misconceptions spread by terrorist organizations, through their publications on the internet and social networking sites. The visit is under the supervision of Dr. Gamal Abdel Rahman, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hossam Al-Hawari, Student Activities Coordinator, and Mr. Muhammad Farouk, General Director of the University’s Youth Welfare Department.
The visit included a lecture on “Dangers of Terrorist Organizations Exploiting Technology to Attract and Recruit Youth and Adolescents,” and a lecture entitled “Youth and Extremist Groups,” about the strategies that terrorist organizations rely on to spread their extremist ideas, and ways to expose the falsity of their ideas and protect the minds of young people from deliberate misinformation.
It is noteworthy that this visit was preceded by the organization of a number of visits to Al-Azhar Observatory in light of the cooperation concluded between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Al-Azhar Sheikhdom, and the Coptic Church, to educate university youth about various issues and develop the spirit of loyalty and belonging to our homeland.
