“Political Engagement and Youth Support in Nation-Building” a symposium at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Beni Suef National University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, Acting President of Beni Suef National University, the Faculty of Mass Communication organized an educational symposium on “Political Engagement and Youth Support in Nation-Building” under the supervision of Dr. Sahar Dawoud, Academic Vice President of the National University, and Dr. Rasha Adel, Coordinator of the Faculty of Mass Communication. The symposium was lectured by Dr. Gamal Abdel Muttalib, Professor of Sociology, in the presence of a remarkable number of students.
The symposium dealt with the meaning of political participation and its importance, democracy and ways to implement it, the importance of the role of youth and women in building the state, the benefits that accrue to the individual and society from political participation, and its levels that start from interest in public affairs all the way to the top of the pyramid, which is holding positions. The symposium also addressed the importance and how to exercise the electoral right, who has the right to vote, and introduce the role of the Supreme Elections Commission in the electoral process, the role of the media in documenting electoral participation within the committees, and how to know the committees for individuals.
