The Faculty of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, hosted the students of the Martyr / Mustafa Salama Preparatory School for Girls in Al-Wasta Center, under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Osama Shalabia, Dean of the College, in the presence of Vice-Deans of the college, faculty members, and the official in charge of smart learning and scientific research at the Talented Students Management at the Directorate of Education.
The activities of the visit included an introductory lecture about the college, which is the first college of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East. It aims to prepare and graduate cadres at the highest level to work in the field of space navigation, and to establish an integrated scientific base in the fields of navigation sciences and space technology through advanced and distinguished study plans and programs that consistent with academic standards, students were introduced to the various specializations and departments, graduates’ capabilities, and job opportunities available to them after graduation, in addition to an introductory lecture on how to use the electro-optical telescope as a monitoring station for astronomical phenomena, satellites, and space debris, and also to survey the early Arab months in cooperation with the Egyptian Fatwa House as the college is one of the committees for reconnaissance of the Hijri crescent months.
Some graduation projects for last year's first batch and their applications in developing the space industry and its related applications, including air and maritime navigation applications and remote sensing applications, were also presented.
