Students of the Faculty of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology at Beni Suef University, conclude their summer training at the Meteorological Authority

Students of the Faculty of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology at Beni Suef University, under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Osama Shalabiya, Dean of the Faculty, concluded their summer training at the General Meteorological Authority.
Dr. Mansour Hassan pointed out that the university is keen to raise the level of students’ practical skills and link the curriculum to practical reality through cooperation with various institutions and bodies specialized in their field of study, to qualify them for the labor market.
The university president added that the training included a number of lectures on meteorology and monitoring methods that are carried out through the Meteorological Authority, which includes 47 stations across the Republic, the climate data cycle, methods of collecting it and how to benefit from it in urbanization, national projects, etc., as well as computer software for meteorology, and Computer communications in meteorological services, including everything related to collecting information, including reception, transmission, analysis, and backup operations on the servers of the General Meteorological Authority.
A visit was also made to the computer laboratory and to learn how to deal with the information received by the Authority, and also to enter the “super computer” laboratory to maintain the database of the General Meteorological Authority, and training on map analysis and aviation meteorology, and everything related to aviation meteorological cases and training on how to analyze climate and weather information via satellites and how to analyze weather observations made via European EMUT SAT satellites, through which Egypt obtains meteorological information. The students also visited the Forecast and Early Warning Center, the Remote Sensing Center, and the Computer Center. As well as visiting the Authority’s museum at the end of the training.
Dr. Osama Shalabia, Dean of the College, thanked Air Major General Hisham Tahoun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Meteorological Authority, for the good cooperation and the opportunity to train graduates and students of the College in order to ensure the graduation of human cadres at the highest level in the field of navigation sciences and space technology. We look forward to more cooperation between Both sides.
