The President of Beni Suef University meets with a delegation from the Coptic Evangelical Organization and the Giving Fund to discuss ways of cooperation

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, met today with a delegation from the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services and the Giving Charitable Investment Fund to Support People with Disabilities to discuss ways of cooperation and ways to provide services to students with disabilities from the university’s various colleges.
The meeting was attended by Mr/Mohamed Selim, Secretary-General of the University, Mrs/Margaret Sarofim, Head of the Local Development Sector of the Coptic Evangelical Authority, Mrs/Amira Al-Rifai, Director of the Giving Investment Fund to Support People with Disabilities, Mr/Nabil Ezzat, Deputy Director of Housing and Local Resource Development, Coptic Evangelical Authority for Social Services, and Mr/Wafiq Nassif Qaim acting of the work of the Deputy Director of Housing at the Coptic Evangelical Authority for Social Services, Mr/Abanoub Kamal, Coordinator of the Irada Program at the Coptic Evangelical Authority for Social Services, Mrs/Nada Ibrahim, Giving Fund, and Mr/Ismail Selim, Deputy Director of the University Center for Professional Development.
Dr. Mansour Hassan welcomed the delegation of the Coptic Authority and the Giving Fund to Beni Suef University, stressing that the university pays great attention to students with disabilities in particular, and that the university has a specialized college to serve them and to become a leader in this field among its counterparts from other universities at the local and regional levels, since 2016. In addition to a center that provides various services and all means of support for them and their parents during their studies at the university, as well as a unit for people with disabilities.
The President of Beni Suef University pointed out that His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, has paid great attention to people of determination since he assumed power, and that they are living their golden age during his reign. He ordered their care, support, and integration into society, and always directs them to meet all their needs, listen to them, and participate in all celebrations out of belief in their effective role in all aspects of life, and that the university is overcoming all obstacles that people with disabilities may face and facilitating all procedures related to them while exempting them from tuition fees, in addition to providing scholarships to postgraduate students in all colleges for students with special needs.

Professor Margaret Sarofim, Head of the Local Development Sector at the Coptic Evangelical Authority, thanked Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, for the warm reception, stressing that the Authority works to serve all segments of Egyptian society and provide services to 3 million people every year, as we have 14 development programs and work with 400 grassroots associations in all the various programs, the Authority has great interest in people of determination and provides all services to them through 4 axes, by providing accessibility services, preparing the environment for their services, accessibility, providing prosthetic devices in cooperation with the Irada Factory, and rehabilitating people of determination and their families by developing their skills and capabilities, awareness and dissemination of concepts. Correct issues related to people with disabilities and inclusion in the general process by holding partnership protocols for the integration of people.
Ms. Amira Al-Rifai, Director of the Giving Investment Fund, confirmed that the Fund is the first charitable investment fund inside Egypt that has been operating since 2020, as it works to support people with disabilities. It is a pioneering and unique entity that was created to bring about an effective and influential change in the quality of life of people with disabilities to enable them to live independently and have access to their full rights in all aspects of life and to obtain equal opportunities with their peers without disabilities. The Fund works in cooperation with civil society organizations and relevant government institutions. It also works on 3 main axes, which are equal educational opportunities, economic empowerment, and community-based rehabilitation.
