The Beni Suef University Council, headed by Dr. Mansour Hassan, University President,  approved, during its 225th session, the
launch of two initiatives: “Tobacco-Free University” and “Teach Yourself” and holding a charity clothing exhibition in the third week of the beginning of the new academic year at the College of Education.
The Council also approved the college’s participation in implementing the President of the Republic’s initiative to plant 100 million trees, in cooperation with the initiative’s specialists from the Ministry of Environment and the Governorate General Office, and in light of the trend towards a green university
The university president explained that the Tobacco-Free University initiative aims to raise awareness of the health and psychological dangers of smoking by holding a series of seminars and forming medical and nursing teams to conduct direct awareness-raising with students, and training cadres of students and faculty members on how to carry out
awareness-raising.
While the Teach Yourself initiative aims to hold a series of seminars that bring together students with a number of education experts and educational staff from various colleges within the university, to train on necessary skills that the student needs during his educational career, such as the skills of listening, memorizing, thinking, contemplating, and analyzing.
