Dr/Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced the success of a medical team at Beni Suef University Hospitals in performing a rare, high-risk surgery to remove a tumor in the chest. This is under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Al-Hadidi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beni Suef University Hospitals, Dr. Hisham Bushra, Executive Director of the Hospitals, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Ashqar, Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Mansour Hassan explained that this type of tumor is rare, and the danger of performing the surgery lies in the large size of the tumor and its adhesion to the lung and diaphragm and its pressure on the patient’s heart, as the size of the tumor reached 20 x 14 cm, which requires accuracy and high skill to preserve the organs. Surrounding the tumor and removing the tumor completely without severe bleeding endangers the patient's life.
