President of Beni Suef University: Assigning Dr. Ghada Atef as Acting Director of Anti-Violence Against Women Unit

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, issued a decision assigning Dr. Ghada Atef Sayed, Lecturer at the Department of Individual Sports at the Faculty of Physical Education, to carry out the work of director of the anti-violence against women unit at the university, within the framework of the university’s plan to implement activities to combat violence against women.
The university president explained that the goal of establishing the unit is to ensure the provision of a safe and supportive educational environment for women and university girls free of violence and discrimination, in light of the national strategy for the empowerment of Egyptian women 2030, which is based on achieving the sustainable development goals, especially the goal related to the empowerment of women and girls.
The President of Beni Suef University indicated that the unit also aims to implement many activities related to combating violence against women, and activate the role of the Executive Committee to follow up the efforts of ministries and governmental bodies related to the national strategy through the formation of working groups to follow up on implementation at the university level, in addition to organizing training courses to raise the capacities of women dealing with cases of violence, and to train doctors to deal with victims of violence.
Narmin Mahmoud, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women branch in Beni Suef, praised the important role played by the university under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan in terms of attention to issues related to the issue of women’s empowerment, and that Beni Suef University is one of the leading universities in taking care of the issue of combating violence against women and girls through all its units in general and the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital in particular, stressing that the university has witnessed many achievements, which are distinguishing features in its history in the file of women's empowerment.
