Activating protocol of cooperation between Beni Suef University and the Egyptian Space Agency ... Implementation of a research project to measure the agricultural area at a cost of 2 million pounds

In the framework of the technological transformation adopted by the State to achieve comprehensive development, Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, and Dr. Mohamed Afifi El-Qousy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, signed a cooperation protocol to serve the scientific, research, educational and training fields.
For his part, Porf. Dr. Mansour explained that the first step to activate the protocol is to implement a research project at a cost of 2 million pounds for the design, manufacture and testing of a mobile earth station to measure soil and agricultural area (m2m) via satellites, within the framework of the university's role in serving the community in the field of agriculture through Scientific research and its various applications.
The University President added that the two parties will work to achieve the optimal exploitation of the scientific and material resources available to them by providing the necessary technical, scientific and technological expertise to implement all stages of the project from assembling the components of the station and software and testing its functions and evaluation, in addition to conducting technological researches and providing services, devices and components that allow the production of experimental samples for the phases of the project and conducting laboratory and field experiments on those samples.
Al-Qousi stated that the cooperation aims to enrich the educational process through coordination in all research stages from concept development and design to the implementation and practical application stage, in addition to its participation in projects, researches, conferences, workshops, seminars, events, training programs and joint supervision of Master and Ph.D. theses.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Osama Mahmoud Shalabi, Dean of the Faculty of Navigation Science and Space Technology, Prof. Dr. Hanan Suleiman, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Gamal Abdel Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Mohy Motawa, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and a group of scientists and researchers from both sides.
