President of Beni Suef University: Exploring crescent of Ramadan at the space station of the Faculty of Science of Navigation and Space Technology
Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced that the College of Navigation and Space Technology will explore the crescent of holy Ramadan on Sunday evening with the participation of representatives from the Egyptian Fatwa House.
The university president said that the college has the latest high-resolution space telescopes, which are equipped with programs to guide any weak space object, monitor and photograph it through a television screen, and observation cameras with the naked eye at the same time. This is the first time that this type of telescope has been used to monitor and confirm the vision of the crescent of Ramadan, and the Hijri Months in general.
Prof. Mansour Hassan added that the College began tracking, monitoring and photographing all phases of the Crescent starting from the second half of the Hijri month to determine the exact timing of the birth of the new moon and the start of photographing the first picture after its birth.
It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Navigation and Space Technology at Beni Suef University is the first Egyptian and Arab faculty specialized in the field of space navigation and applications of space technology and scientific sections. The College includes the Departments of Space Navigation, Space Science, Space Communications, Space Navigation Programs and the Applied Science of Space and Navigation, which is the first major program in space applications.
