President of Beni Suef University : Plan to establish central laboratories to apply electronic tests
prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, received this morning the Follow-up Committee for the Implementation of Electronic Testing from the Supreme Council of Universities and the Central Projects Management Unit in Cairo, represented in Prof. Dr. Maha Azmi, Director of Measurement and Evaluation Center and an Engineer of Software Company and their accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khedr, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Director of Projects Unit, Director of the Unit of Measurement and Evaluation of the University, and some deans and faculty members in the medical sector, to apply electronic tests in the medical sector as a first stage.
The university president explained that the plan aims at establishing a number of central laboratories designed according to international standards and equipped with sound systems, surveillance cameras and high-efficiency computer machines, which are connected to the tests network at Higher Education Ministry in order to apply electronic tests in all university compounds.
The University President indicated that the first phase in the application of electronic testing will begin with the medical sector including the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry , Pharmacy, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Institute of Laser and the Institute of Studies of Elderly Science, pointing out to organize a number of training courses for faculty members on the system of electronic tests, and how to prepare a bank of questions, stressing the need to provide databases of student names, their data and their official emails in preparation for implementation.
Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan stressed the university's interest in applying electronic tests, especially as it will solve the problems of rectification, especially with the huge numbers of college students, and eliminate the phenomenon of cheating. It also saves time, effort and expenses, in addition to easy extraction of statistics and results accurately and transparently.
