The Board of the University of Beni Suef agrees to start the work of the Center for Counseling and Family Development
On October 31, 2018, the council of Beni Suef University (164), under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, approved the commencement of the work in the Center for Family Counseling and Development at the Faculty of Social Development service.
The President of the University explained that the center is part of the political orientations supporting the structure of Egyptian society, which was presented by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi during the Sixth Youth Conference which reflects the political awareness of the issues of the problematic society, as reflected by the recent statistical indicators, indicating that the divorce rates amounted to more than 44% The number of marriages, an average of 25 divorce cases every hour, so that Egypt is in the forefront of countries experiencing the increase rates of divorce and separation.
Dr. Mansoor Hassan added that the Center's headquarters is in the Faculty of Social Work Development, but works in cooperation with specialized and active colleges in the field: Arts, Law, Media, Education, Human Medicine. The Center aims at improving the lifestyle of the Egyptian family members, which helps to achieve indicators of protection for family members, and reduce family problems, especially formal divorce, emotional divorce or what is known as marital silence, as well as direct social and psychological support for the family. The center provides services to university youth, prospective brides (village-city), newly married families, families in need of advice and support, and individual formats.
It is worth mentioning that the Center has many sub-objectives that can be achieved through five axes: services, scientific research, training, professional graduate studies, documentation, as follows:
First: Services: The center provides family services with three dimensions: preventive services, treatment services, rehabilitation services.
Second: Scientific Research: The Center provides research services in the form of: National Survey Research and qualitative descriptive research.
Third: Training: The center identifies the training needs of all workers in the field of family care, including (family medicine, social development work in the field of family care, social workers, family counselors, psychologists, etc.). Based on the identification of training needs, appropriate training programs for family care workers are identified.
Fourth: Professional Postgraduate Studies: The Center seeks to prepare professional diploma programs in various specialties that work in the field of family care such as medicine, social work, mental health, rights, media, etc.
Fifth: Documentation: The Center is interested in being a home of expertise for researchers and practitioners in the field of family development through documenting local, regional and international experiences in the fields of family development.
