President of Beni-Suef University: Fruitful cooperation between governorate and university against nodal skin disease of livestock

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni-Suef University, announced the university full readiness represented by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to cooperate in the fight against nodal skin disease.

The University President said that this comes within the framework of the social role of University in cooperation with the governorate to protect and preserve livestock. In addition to preparing a series of veterinary caravans that include awareness seminars and guidance for the disease in various centers of the province.

It is worth mentioning that nodal skin disease or so-called ''Cows' Smallpox'' , is one of the endemic diseases in Egypt that infects cows and sheep, and it activates during that period of the year with the spread of mosquito, the main carrier of the virus among cows and sheep.

In some cases, "nodal skin" causes rapid death of cows, causing severe financial losses to farmers, especially as the treatment period may last for 15 days.
