Beni Suef University gets Bronze and Silver Medals for the invention of cancer treatment and bat swimmer in Geneva International Innovation Competition
Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced that Dr. Sameh Abdel Moneim, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, has got the silver medal for using nanotechnology to deliver topical thymosolomide by inhalation to treat lung cancer. The student / Amr Al Sherief, Third year, Department of Management at the Faculty of Physical Education won the bronze medal for innovating swimmer bat at the Geneva International Innovation Exhibition, which is currently held in the Swiss capital Geneva.
For his part, Dr. Mansour expressed his happiness with the two awards, pointing out that the inventors and innovators represent the first category who deserve the University's support, as they participate in raising the name of the university and the homeland in international forums, stressing that the University spares no effort in supporting the scientific publishing of researches and registration of patents, Supporting the use of local and foreign expertise, exploring new ideas and caring for their owners and providing them with an appropriate environment, praising the important role played by the university's technology transfer and marketing office in activating the role of scientific research.
It is worth mentioning that the invention of the swimmer bat, is an innovation that simulates the way the vision of the bat using ultrasonic waves in the identification of distances and reading the surrounding location, and converted them to sound signals in the ear of the swimmer. It also connects the blind swimmer with the trainer via a digital radio transmitter.
