Cooperation Protocol between Beni Suef University and the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute

prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University and Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Sabbagh, Director of the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, signed a joint memorandum of cooperation in the fields of chemistry, applied chemistry, petroleum, environment, energy sources, nanotechnology applications, engineering polymers and other areas aimed at consolidating and facilitating Scientific exchanges between the two sides, development of scientific research, and upgrading it scientifically and practically.
This came during a visit by a delegation from the University of Beni Suef headed by University President and Dr. Hanan Sulaiman, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. / Sayed Abdelkader, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Gouda Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Earth Science, Prof. Dr. Sabry Tamam, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center and some professors from the faculties of the University to the Petroleum Research Institute to discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties and to coordinate the signing of a protocol of cooperation between the university and the Institute. This comes within the framework of the implementation of the strategic plan to promote the university.

 Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan said that this protocol aims to achieve common interest between the two sides, and the integration of academic, research and training activities by conducting training courses for Beni Suef University students at the institute and conducting joint applied researches among faculty members at University faculties such as Engineering, Science, Earth Sciences and Petroleum Research Institute experts and professors.

He added that the areas of cooperation also included the exchange of the mandate of professors and researchers working at the university and the Institute to teach some courses related to Petroleum at the different departments of the university and the Institute. He pointed out that the cooperation protocol has several programs, including conducting joint applied researches in the fields of various petroleum industries so that each party benefits from what the other party owns from Ideas or laboratory potentials or equipment to enrich the educational and research process and increase students' awareness and knowledge.

The terms of the protocol also included the establishment of joint diplomas among university faculties and the institute in the field of petroleum and petrochemicals. The graduate will be granted a certificate approved by the two institutions. The researchers of the institute who wish to complete their higher studies in colleges can register for higher studies under a joint supervision of university and institute professors.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabbagh, Director of the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, accompanied the delegation on a tour to visit the Institute's various laboratories and identify the research departments and services it provides.
