President of Beni-Suef University: Designing university course with Egyptian international experience during a workshop at Beni-Suef University
Prof. Dr. / Amin Lotfy, President of Beni-Suef University, received at his office Prof. Dr. / Ismail Gheta, Chairman of the Egyptian-British Organization for Education and Scientific Research, England, in the presence of Prof. Dr. / Tarif Shawky, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Prof. Dr. / Eman Qandil, Manager of International Cooperation Office at the University.
Within the framework of Prof. Dr. / Amin Lotfy's interest in the professional development of university faculty members and through benefiting from the application of experiences and exchanging them among foreign universities and Beni-Suef University, the University held a two-day workshop on designing and redesigning of university course, it was lectured by Prof. Dr. / Ismail Gheta in the presence of a group of faculty members from the Egyptian universities, and Dr. / Wafaa Mohamed Mouawad, Teacher at the Faculty of Education and the General Coordinator of the workshop.
The University President also explained that the purpose of this workshop is to develop the sustainable skills of academics and to develop the personal skills of the teaching and scientific research staff at the university and to transfer and exchange these experiences between the two universities. This study deals with how to design courses, curriculum, influences that are considered as factors that are helpful and should be taken into account in designing courses, including the use of technology, environmental conditions, class sizes, industry requirements, flexibility, Equipment, capabilities and practical training.
Prof. Dr. / Tarif Shawky added that the aim of holding such workshops at the university is to contribute in exchanging experiences among Beni-Suef University and foreign universities, as it is a strategic objective of the university.
During the workshop, Prof. Dr. / Ismail Ghaita discussed the correct bases for the design or redesign of the university's courses and curricula, and through the experiments applied at the University of Strathclyde, one of the largest universities in Scotland, Britain, in light of the use of British expertise by Egyptian scientists and experts abroad and linking what is being applied in England and Egypt and what is similar or different from the exchange of information and knowledge between the experiences between the two sides.
