President of Beni-Suef University in a seminar entitled ''You are stronger'': establishing an anti-drug unit for protection, prevention and treatment
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. / Amin Lotfy, President of Beni-Suef University, the Faculty Developmental Social Work in collaboration with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a seminar entitled "You are Stronger" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. / Alaa Abdel Halim, Vice President for Community Service Sector and in the presence of Dr./ Abou El Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Dean of the College, Dr. / Mohamed Mostafa, poison and drug expert at the Forensic Medicine Department, and Dr./ Amr Osman, Head of the Anti-Drug and Addiction Fund.
During his speech, Dr. Amin Lotfy announced about establishing an anti-narcotics unit that aims at drug prevention through the organization of conferences, seminars and workshops that will help in the process of education and awareness of the dangers of addiction and drug abuse as one of the challenges that cast a negative shadow on society as well as early detection and prevention of the cases through some of the tools such as surveillance cameras that have already detected some cases and also the stage of treatment through the university hospital and specialized units in the university in a complete confidentiality, noting that the University in the case of detecting any case of drug use among the Employees shall be dismissed immediately.
The university president added that the aim of establishing this unit is to reflect the university's role in raising the awareness of addiction and drugs dangers to face this phenomenon, especially if the awareness programs are directed primarily to youth. He also expressed his happiness with the first social activity in the Faculty of Developmental Social Work.
